About Setu
Last updated 15 October 2026
Setu is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform built and operated by Vantelyx. Businesses that sell through Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp use Setu to answer their customers in one inbox, with help from an AI assistant that knows their catalogue, and to turn those conversations into orders.
How businesses use Setu
Setu is multi-tenant: each business signs up, creates its own workspace and invites its team. The business then connects the Instagram professional account, Facebook Page or WhatsApp Business account it owns, through Meta's own login and with the permissions Meta shows it. From then on Setu works on that business's behalf: it receives the messages customers send to the business, shows them to the business's team, and sends the replies the team or the assistant writes.
- Each business controls the accounts it connects and can disconnect them in Setu at any time.
- Each business's data stays in its own workspace and is used only to provide Setu to that business.
- Vantelyx does not message customers for its own purposes and does not use one business's data for another.
What Setu does
- A shared inbox for Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp conversations, with delivery and read states.
- An AI assistant that answers product, price and stock questions from the business's catalogue and policies.
- Product discovery from a customer's description or photo, with product cards or links in the reply.
- Order workflows: collecting delivery details, checking prices and stock, confirming and cancelling orders, and connecting the business's own online store.
- Human handover: the assistant steps back when a customer asks for a person or the team replies.
- Operational tools: team roles and invites, failed-reply records, usage and AI cost, and an activity log.
Channel status
- Instagram: Meta App Review in progress.
- Facebook Messenger: Built, awaiting Meta App Review.
- WhatsApp Business: Built, awaiting Meta App Review.
Each channel becomes available to businesses outside Setu's own test accounts only after Meta approves it.
